How to set up the correct display of text in Notepad?
Usually it opens everything normally, but sometimes texts with replaced characters drop out.
Instead of "cool" - "ruta¤"
instead of "plastic" - "plastic" I
noticed changes in the lower right corner on Notepad. Normally displayed when there are such settings:

With errors when, there is this. That is, the Macintosh appears instead of Windows-1251

You need to go to the menu Options -> Settings -> Miscellaneous,
and disable auto-detection of character encoding there.
The joke is that the encoding is still determined, and it is always correct, not 50/50.
For many years I don’t remember about this Notepad bug.
