How to set up sending a scan by email to the MFP?

MFP model HP Laserjet 400 m425dw, I want to set up sending a scan to email, but for some reason it gives an error something like "smtp server not recognized". Used both yandex and mail and gmail. Same. I didn’t cut the Internet cable to the MFP itself, I checked it from the computer through the program and believed that the MFP uses the Internet through the computer. Perhaps I was wrong. Need advice, thanks

you connect to the network, set ip, go to the web face and there you configure access to network folders and by mail the
MFP uses its own network card and it needs to be configured to work with the outside world (or make its imitation)
