How to set up search in navbar (bootstrap)?

When you click on the search icon, a search bar appears on top of the menu. Please tell me how to make it so that when you enter a query and click search, this line remains with the entered (current) query, and is not reset?

You can comment out the call to the closeSearch() function, after which the search string will no longer disappear.
