How to set up remote control from button to button?

Good afternoon, of course the question may seem strange and naive, but please do not judge strictly. The question is: is it possible to create two small wireless devices on which one button is located, the essence is simple, when you press button No. 1, button No. 2 snaps off, when you press button No. 2, button No. 1 snaps off. If it’s not difficult, explain how overall this device will be and is it possible to maintain communication between them over long distances, as well as what will be required to make this a reality ??
PS I apologize in advance for the incorrectness and incorrect use of terminology (because I am a humanist)

@Mesuti

To maintain a distance, communication is required.
This is either WiFi internet or 3G from the phone.

The implementation on the Arduino board is best (it costs a penny on Aliexpress).
This is something like a micro-computer, you can configure it as you like. Including the activation of any buttons, even on a schedule, even on WiFi
There are a lot of videos on YouTube on such topics that they just don’t collect on these boards

For a correct answer, I need to understand what you mean:
1. there is the concept of "electric button latch" and "mechanical button latch".
2. "The button snaps off" is an analogue of the concept "load is disconnected"
Please reformat the question, taking into account generally accepted definitions.
