the task is next. There is a (sub)domain mail.mydomain.com and a VPS. You need to make it so that when you open the mail.mydomain.com address, the gmail.com page opens. In order for everything to work correctly, including JavaScript, mail was sent, etc. But at the same time, any URL began with mail.mydomain.com, without going to gmail.com. Do not offer options with web proxy or ssh channel.

Create your own DNS, register gmail.com to your addresses there (well, or use the hosts of your OS). In NGINX, you create your own virtual resource that waits for gmail.com in header: host.
