How to set up data exchange between the site and 1C?

There is an online store on Django. How can I set up data exchange with 1C commodity base? I read some documentation on the CommerceML format, but it's not clear to me how everything is configured from the 1C side. I have never dealt with 1C and do not want to have. But, as far as I understand , all uploads are set up quite simply, you only need to specify the URL of the handler. And then everything happens automatically?

Yes, you are digging in the right direction. 1C has an algorithm for interacting with the upload script, according to which files of product offers are uploaded to the server. This algorithm is roughly described in your link. After loading xml files, you just have to process them on the server side. Setting up uploads starting from version 11 of 1C is quite simple dev.1c-bitrix.ru/learning/course/?COURSE_ID=42&LES...

In addition to the standard data exchange, there are other options. Perhaps you should also consider them: TJ DATA and 1s-exchange.rf
