How to set up an ftp client correctly?

I work with the site via ftp via WINSCP
When I work with the timeweb, after about half an hour problems begin, files stop uploading and downloading.
Support says that the client is badly configured, and duplicates connections or something.
Started using Filezilla, same story.
Please tell me what should I do so that the client does not duplicate these connections?
