How to set up a network between guest machines in vmware??
I'm trying to create a small LAN and nothing comes out at all. Help!
there is a server on ubuntu and several clients are also Linux. I want the server to have access to the network and the Internet was distributed to other computers. this is real? if not, then at least they saw each other..
server (192.168.1.38; 255.255.255.0; 192.168.1.0) set to Bridged, clients(192.168.1.39; 255.255.255.0; 192.168.1.38) to Lan Segment1. after the restart, etn1 does not rise on the server and there is no network at all .. I don’t know what to do, but there are a lot of questions:
1) did I assign the ip address correctly? Address pool: 192.168.1.33 - 192.168.1.62 i.e. all this can be filled with computers?
2) at clients the gateway is ip of the server?
3) in general how to learn the gateway?? ifconfig doesn't show. in the admin panel of the router
Network address | Gateway | Mask | Interface
192.168.1.0 | 0.0.0.0 | 255.255.255.0 | LAN
is it? Or this one with zeros?
4) if the server is in Bridged mode, then the gateway with the host is common?
5) dns 192.168.1.1 is it normal for LAN? how to define it?
uff, it looks like...

hmm .... no words. only emotions. a person does not know what a normal dns is .. but virtualit.
everything is much easier. you do the virtual switch, general for these machines. you stick virtual wires from virtual machines in it. further everything depends on whether you have a dhcp server. it is possible to register simply for a start address statics.
a gateway is a machine that connects your network to the internet. A router is also a gateway. just a bad one. the gateway should also be plugged into the same virtual switch. and the second wire (real) to the Internet provider.
concerning "normality"... those technologies that are used now do not impose restrictions on the addresses of the gateway, dns-a. at least x.x.0.111 if only you liked and remembered.
you can skype. it's in the profile. but I'm at the computer only in the evening. + 6 in Moscow

oh, but I didn’t know about virtual switches .. it’s really very convenient
to drag Windows machines into the grid, but it doesn’t work with Linux yet. Apparently I'm editing the config incorrectly or the firewall is interfering. I will try
thanks!
