How to set up a connection to a PostgreSQL database over the Internet? There is a database on the server, how to connect to it from the local machine?
Version 8.4 if needed.

Ideally, raise the VPN on the server. Well, or directly, hoping for a chance. The latest pg's have encryption if it's possible to upgrade to the latest.
