How to set path to mongodb database?

I would like to store files with the database not in the Mongi directory, but each in the folder of its application. Is it possible to specify a separate path for each database?
And immediately the question is off topic: what are the restrictions on the size of the database / collection for 2017?

Run a separate mongo instance with a local directory. Although it is better to use docker for this.
