How to set layout for a specific screen height?

Colleagues, how to use qualifiers to set the layout to a certain height?
I read all the tutorials from developer.android, but still there was a misunderstanding.
With the width, everything is very clear. But what about devices that have a) non-standard resolution and b) non-standard resolution + a strip with buttons at the bottom of the screen?
I layout all layouts as adaptively as possible, but I still run into moments when the layout does not fit on the screen in height.
