And in Ubuntu like this

How to reduce it?
Of course, I understand that for many, standard sizes and fonts are preferable, but still very few letters in the tab get in the way at this size, like in Ubuntu.

only set the Tahoma size to 9 or 8.

Unfortunately I don't have Win7 at the moment to check.
But judging by this . The binding goes to the font size in the "Message box" settings.
