How to set compilation options correctly?

There is a project for android studio. Debugging is performed on the 6th droid. The project uses 23 api.
What settings do you need to make in order for the final project to run on droids version 4.4 and higher?
If you answer for the dinosaur nature of the question, I will be glad for any links to articles where this issue is normally covered.

You need to install minSdkVersion 19.
But if the application did not initially support earlier versions of android, there may be problems and revision may be required.
