How to send a private message with a person's ID in discord.py?

I have a command that sends a message to a person

@client.command()
async def senddm(ctx, id, *, message):
    user = client.get_user(id)
    await user.send(message)

And writes an error: "NoneType" object has no attribute "send" . How to fix?
