How to select multiple datagrid cells?

How can I make it so that when you click on the middle cell (number 53), the cells are highlighted as in the screenshot?

Have you tried reading the column and row number of the selected cell and setting the others (from i-1,j-1 to i+1,j+1) to have the IsSelected property set to true?
