How to see if there is a request for a domain?

Good afternoon!
Control panel CentOS web panel, centos system, apache web server
Access to the north goes through non-standard port 8081 and port forwarding to 80 comes from it
The problem is that I added the site through the panel, a config file is created in the Apache config folder, everything is fine there , the path to the project is specified /home/user/public_html/site.ru/www
the problem is that when you request site.ru:8081, the default site /home/user/public_html/ opens
, as I understand it, virtualhost does not work.
Maybe when Forwarding the port does not transfer the domain?
maybe there are some logs where you can look at what request came from?

It depends on how the forwarding is done, if the firewall, then he doesn’t care, he just deployed from point a to point b, the Apache looks at what is indicated in the hostname when requested from the browser, and compares it with its config.
