How to scrape a website that is only accessible via vpn?

There is a site that parses data from another site, which, in turn, is available only through a vpn connection (internal corporate portal). Parser - PHP Simple HTML DOM Parser. Is it possible to somehow configure the web server on the hosting so that it automatically initiates a vpn connection? Ideally, open and close the vpn connection in PHP code if possible.
