How to save the contents of a deleted file?

Hello. Vporos will seem very naive, but I will be glad to hear even negative answers.
I have one of the linux distributions. In the console, I connect via ssh to a remote server. I open, for example, some file on this remote server with vim. Is it possible to immediately save this file on your local machine? I know about scp. I'm interested in the possibility. The content of the file is still passed for me via ssh. Is it possible to immediately convert this stream to a file?

You are not given the contents of the file, but what vim or any other utility draws in the console.
