How to save streaming video in linux with mjpg-streamer?

There is a running mjpg-streamer server. Streams the image from the camera. I want a Linux PC to connect to the camera server and record the stream as a video. wget saves BUT in the player I can't rewind the record!!! I need this opportunity.

I tried to record through vlc, rewind works. There are other options through ffmpeg transcoding, but I'll leave that to you =)
