How to safely install linux with windows 8.1

Hello, how can I painlessly put Linux next to Windows with subsequent (possible) removal? If you just format the partitions with Linux, then the grub bootloader will break, and you will have to boot from the Windows disk and install the Windows bootloader. Is there an easier method? I would like to sit on ubuntu and mint.

if you just want to look, then there are virtual machines for this, I advise virtalbox or live cd / usb
and restoring the Windows mbr is simple and in 90% of cases it is painless ... there is a lot of information on this topic in the net
