How to run Octopus Palpus on Linux?

Octopus palpus. This is a .Net application. Authorization by login and password is used to work on your own behalf. Installed mono. I copied the folder from Windows (I installed and worked on Windows), namely C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\.... keeping the folder hierarchy. The application started without problems, BUT cannot connect to the server. What to do?
Is it possible that some components did not start and therefore some kind of check with the server does not pass, and therefore the connection is interrupted?
PS It's a pity to give a virtual machine with Win XP 1GB RAM

Wine?
In general, as I understand it, this is some kind of incomprehensible division of domestic progers? Such software is usually written on the knee in pop-ups and, of course, no one guarantees you that it will work under emulation.
