How to run magento on local machine via XAMP?

I downloaded the archive with magento, unpacked it into the magento2 folder, which is placed in the htdocs folder. Uncommented soap , xls , intl extensions. When I go to a folder through localhost, I get a 404 error, although the folder and data exist, what should I do?

Well, your magento2 is not specified in the server settings as the root for the site. "I go to the folder through localhost" - without all the details, wang, you get to the root of the site, namely htdocs. Create an index.html file in htdocs and see the result.
And so, either add magento2 to the URL, or bind magento2 to the local domain. I'm sure XAMPP does this out of the box.
