How to run an application on Linux?

In short, I'm a Linux noob.
When I install some kind of program on Ubuntu, I write sudo apt-get install program_name, everything seems to be installed, but there is one problem, how can I start it then?

The problem in Linux is, at a minimum:
the specific version and name of the program the
name and version of the distribution kit
The configuration of the hardware
the position of the stars when the problem arose
