How to return the previous version of a file on the server?

Good day! Yesterday I accidentally saved the wrong thing to a file on the server, but there was a lot of necessary code there. Now I'm racking my brains on how to restore it to a previous version. Connected via FTP and changed the file by opening it normally in the Visual Studio editor.

Talk to the host. Hosters sometimes make backups automatically.

you can ask the hoster for backup files,
you can probably see the history in visual studio, I have quite a large history stored in sublime, probably for visual studio too,
