How to restore PostgreSQL databases from old DATA folder?

Good afternoon, colleagues!
There is a backup copy of the virtual machine, which does not want to deploy in any way, unpacked it with an archiver and pulled out the data folder from PostgeSQL from there.
After reading the Internet, I found out that there are successful cases of restoring databases by placing the data folder in a freshly installed PostgreSQL. For greater success, it is recommended to install the same edition and bitness of PostgreSQL. For example, the PG_VERSION file says "9.0".
How can I find out the full build and vendor version? It can be either a 1C distribution kit or, for example, Etersoft ...
At the moment, a virtual machine is installed, debian 7, postgres-9.0.4-eteroft is installed there. The service does not start, but nothing is written to pgstartup.log

If there is a virtual machine, see the binary

# strings /usr/lib64/postgresql-9.6/bin/postgres|grep PostgreSQL
This is caused by an incomplete page split at crash recovery before upgrading to PostgreSQL 9.1.
PostgreSQL does not support leap seconds.
