How to reset password on Mac OS X Yosemite via single user mode?
Hello, I have a very unpleasant situation that I can’t solve on my own: I forgot the administrator password. I found a common way: resetting the account password in "Recovery Mode", but it did not help me. The fact is that there is no Recovery HD disk, and as you understand, it is not possible to restore this disk, since an administrator password is needed. And now I don’t know what to do in this situation, there is one way left: resetting the account password through “Single User Mode”, but there was a problem here too, I can’t find the appropriate commands for OS X Yosemite. I ask you to help me in this situation, since I am not strong in this, and I understand little - I'm afraid to make trouble.

I once described all the possible ways to recover a password on macOS, read nastroyka.zp.ua/articles/kak-sbrosit-parol-uchetno...
Regarding the command for "Single User Mode", it is the same for everyone starting with OS X 10.7 Lions
