I decided to try gdata here and immediately discovered a small bug in the demos. On the one hand, it would be nice to report it so that they fix it. On the other hand, there is no desire to register for this on their website, to accept any agreements, etc. It is unlikely that I will take an active part in the development - I am not special in php. Maybe there is some simpler way (like, to unsubscribe with soap to one of the developers)? Or maybe there is someone here who can do it (I'll write the details)?
