How to replace system monitoring gadgets in Windows 8?

In Windows 7, I displayed gadgets for monitoring CPU load, RAM (All CPU Meter), temperature and GPU load, video memory usage (GPU Monitor) on an additional monitor. It was very convenient and informative.
Now I installed Windows 8, but, as I see it, gadget support was removed in it.
What methods of displaying such information exist for the new OS?
