How to replace GWT?
Good afternoon, colleagues!
We use Java and GWT (Google Web Toolkit) to write corporate web applications.
We did not choose the technology ourselves, we inherited it.
With many positive qualities, for example, the beautiful appearance of web applications, the convenience of programming for Java developers, etc. Now we are faced with an indecently long time to develop new functionality and maintain the old one. Recently, the main "feature" of GWT has disappeared - debugging the client side. Yes, and Google seems to have "scored" on this framework.
Question :
How to replace GWT?
What is the best technology to migrate an Interprise web application to right now?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

angular
, although if you like chik-chik and in production, then your choice of clojura c react (it compiles in js, and you can use JVM for the server)

You can try Kotlin . It also compiles to JavaScript like GWT. We use Kotlin only on the backend, because on the front we have Dojo , and so far there is no kotlin library that implements it. But if you have VanillaJs on the front, roughly speaking, you will have enough.
If you need to translate something with GWT with the least loss, then one of the best options is Vaadin , which is based on GWT.
If you want to rewrite Java backend to Java EE, then you can use JSF together with RichFaces/PrimeFaces, or Spring/Jersey Rest services and frontend on any JS framework (even Angular, even ExtJS)
