How to replace a MacBook battery using the battery replacement program?
I recently took my 15 inch firmware from 2015 to the iStore in Porto (Portugal) because I found out that apple is recalling this model due to battery problems. Well, let them change, I thought. Today an employee called me from there and pleased me with the information that my macbook is a Frenchman by vocation (the laptop was bought used for about 4 months and was at that time with a normal international QWERTY keyboard ...) and that in order for me to the battery replacement program to change it - you need to order the entire topcase and it can only be ordered by the reference of the old one, respectively, it will be with a French (which is not even QWERTY) keyboard ...
The official didn’t offer me any solutions on this matter (except “if you don’t want a Frenchman, leave everything as it is”). Maybe someone here will tell you how to get a new battery, but stay with my human keyboard ...? provided that my old topcase, along with the keyboard, I most likely will never see again after the replacement.
