How to replace a line in a pdf file using node js?

Hello everyone, there is a PDF file, when I open it through notepad, the first line starts with% PDF-1.4
If I change it through notepad++ and save it, then everything is ok. If I do the same action through nodejs, then the file collapses and becomes unreadable. Actually, the question is, how can you still change a line in a PDF using a node so that the file does not deteriorate?
