How to replace a file with another one?

Wrote a script for one site. My script should be used instead of a script on the server. When I wrote the script, I used the Resource Override extension. Friends wanted to use the script. But for them, installing and configuring the extension was a chore. Wanted to create an extension. But the question arose of how this can be implemented, namely the functionality of replacing the script with your own?

Do you definitely need to REPLACE, or will it be enough to ADD your file? Then tampermonkey/greasemonkey or something similar.
