How to replace a disk in RAID 1?

Actually I would like to understand the sequence of actions.
As a rule, when a RAID is created, all disks are formatted.
If I have 1 out of 2 disks failed, what should I do step by step?
My assumptions are:
1) Split the raid
2) replace the broken disk with a new one
3) build the raid
At step 3, I assume the system will format both disks and I will be left with nothing.
And in passing - how can both disks be replaced in RAID-1 along with the transfer of all data?

RAID has a forced rebuild, with which a lot of people regularly mow, destroying data when replacing a disk, and a "correct" rebuild, which is performed taking into account the replacement of only one disk.
Formatting, as I understand it, is what you call forced rebuild, or initialization.
Depending on how you created the array, you should have controls for it. Surely somewhere there you saw information that one of the disks needs to be replaced. Consult the relevant help/documentation on how to properly replace disks without losing data.
However, given how many cases of data loss we see when replacing a disk in a RAID, I would still recommend making a copy of at least important data before replacing (and best of all). Having a copy of the data will also allow you to simply create a new RAID1 from scratch and then copy files to it.

I do so. I shoot a disk image with RdRive Image. CHECKING THE DISK IMAGE!"!! That it works.
Turn off the PC, Pull out the old disk (dead), insert a new one.
Further, as indicated above, in the program that services the raid, you will see the rebuild ... line and percentages. Or is it a separate BIOS ( if there is a reid controller), or software garbage (like mdamd in linux or intel hdd in windows)
