How to remove unwanted icons in toolbars?

Where are the toolbars in the Windows 7 registry
- I can’t remove from the desktop panel (embedded in the taskbar) icons that do not exist on the desktop at all, but for some reason they are on the panel - such as: Documents, User's Library, My Computer , Control Panel (2 pieces)
