How to remove the App Launcher in Chrome and return it as it was?

I think many have noticed that the content of the New Tab has changed recently in Chrome. Previously, it was possible to show frequently visited sites or web application icons there. Now only websites.

And to access applications, you need to click on a special tab (Apps). Screen below.

It is very uncomfortable. Not only does it take up space on the bookmarks bar, it also makes extra clicks.

Does anyone know how to undo this innovation?
