There are two XBOX Live accounts, the first has a tag without a suffix (4 digits at the end), the second has the same tag as the first, but with a suffix. On the first account, the nickname was released and is now not busy, which means that the suffix is no longer needed for the tag of the second account. Question: how can I remove this suffix without spending money?

Now Xbox Live has switched to a new tag format (name + # + 4 random numbers, like in discord), and if you use the old tag, you can change the name for free.
Only older games that do not support the new format will have a suffix of these four digits added.
An example of such a game is Minecraft
