How to remove splash text on system boot in Linux?

There is a Lubuntu 14.04 system under Orange Pi 2. No grub! (worth u-boot). Also, plymouth is installed in the system, but when the system starts, it displays boot text (text logs), if you press Esc or F1 during boot, the screen will (temporarily) overlap with the plymouth theme, but then it turns black again and brings down the boot logs ...
Perhaps is it possible to remove the text during system boot / overlay it with a picture / use the theme from plymouth, without recompiling the kernel / u-boot ?
Tried fbi as on RaspberryPi - no result.
