How to remove hyphens in mptt.TreeForeignKey in dropdown list?

When a parent is selected, hyphens are added at the beginning of each element, like this

level1elem
---level2elem1
------level3elem1
---level2elem2
------level3elem2
------level3elem3

I want it to be displayed like this:

level1elem
level2elem1
level3elem1
level2elem2
level3elem2
level3elem3

What needs to be done for this?
