How to remove a submodule in git?

Hello. Part of the project was created by a special utility from the framework, and this same utility made a submodule at the root of its part. Now, when you try to commit the entire project, instead of the contents of the folder, the link 527d4d7ea7a9 [527d4d7ea7a9] is displayed... Can you somehow explain to the git that this submodule is needed with the entire project? Or delete this submodule?
How to work with the submodule itself is also unclear (after an unsuccessful attempt to remove the git from this folder).
