How to remove a structure from a text file?

An array of structures is written to a text file, how can I remove an element of this array from a text file? Thanks in advance.

If the structure is binary, everything is done there literally in these three actions (if the structure is described in advance and there is a structural type). If the structure is textual, variable length - you might have to fuck around to find the boundaries of the element.
