08/11/2013 I ordered and paid for three things in the sony store. (to a friend's hotel) The order indicated that the delivery would take two days. 08/12/2013 sent tracks. It turned out that they sent all three gizmos in three parcels. And imagine my surprise when two parcels on tracks were delivered on Wednesday morning. (that is, less than two days have passed since they appeared in the mail). At the same time, one package remained in a hung state, I thought that they simply forgot to update the track at the post office. Only yesterday morning I found out that my friend received two parcels, and the third was missing. Immediately wrote to Sony story. From sony story they answered me that they apologize and made a request for a warehouse. After some time, I wrote again and in response received that they were waiting for information. Assessing the situation I realized that the parcel may not be delivered until Sunday (my friend leaves on Sunday morning, and some postal services do not work on Saturdays). I wrote in sony story that I ask them to return the money. To which they replied that they could not return the money. already initiated shipment from the warehouse. They also wrote that I can refund them within 30 days.
Questions.
What is the best way to proceed in this case?
If the parcel is not delivered in time, then how to refuse it? (because the previous parcels were delivered to the reception, you can ask them not to accept the parcel)
Is it possible to refuse the parcel at all without a good reason?
Do I understand correctly that if the parcel is refused at the reception, then it will go back to the sender?
Do I need to pay for return shipping?

Well, strictly speaking, it's not mail (USPS), it's a FedEx non-postal courier service.
Wow, how ugly. I feel guilty telling you that they are guaranteed to be delivered in 2 days. Ask the receptionist to refuse the package. If the issue still persists, write to me, I live in Sunnyvale.
We don’t know how it is in America, but in Russia we recently faced a similar situation.
We wrote a statement to the delivery service that we would pick it up ourselves.
It was also possible as an option: specify a different delivery address (for an additional fee), incl. to the point of issue (so that you can pick it up yourself).
