Stop the car. Boot from any LiveCD that has a sector-by-sector disk viewer, like the ancient dos-based Norton Disk Editor. In this program, find the text (s) and copy it sector-by-sector somewhere. It's long, complicated, tedious, but almost no recovery program understands UFS.
In addition, it will teach you that there should be a backup.
All admins are divided into those who do not make backups, those who already do them, and those who also check them :) Now you have a qualifying job to move from the first category to the second :D
