How to recognize text on STS, for example on this (Picture from the Internet) .
I tried tesseract and cuneiform - it turns out heresy!
Or maybe some settings are needed for these applications?

Badly tried.
Firstly, the picture must be processed, at least to make it black and white.
Secondly, judging by the quality, it would need to be stretched every 5-10 times.
Thirdly, the picture should, if possible, be divided into lines / areas.
Fourthly, tesseract has parameters (which, as it were, are not 5 pieces). Have you tried playing with the values?
Well, I can recommend OpenCV to you . This library can even determine gender and age from a photograph of a face. But if you don't understand tesseract...
