How to read data from COM port from Java?

Unable to receive data from COM port in Linux. Medical equipment runs on Windows and sends data via COM. The service should be running on Linux, but it is not possible to transfer data to Linux. Even tried different utilities.
What can be the difficulties when working with COM and how to read data from Java?
