How to raise windows if the only thing I have is a backup of the system partition?
Good afternoon.
Please tell me what is the procedure for raising the system if there is only a backup of the system partition (local disk C)? There is no backup of hidden partitions.
I don’t know what Windows was (presumably Windows server 2012R2), what partition style I didn’t know either (presumably GPT).
So far, only one thing comes to mind: raise the virtual machine, with server Windows, replace the system partition with a completely backup one and try to start, if it fails, try to restore the bootloader. Am I on the right track or are there other options?

It was not possible to restore - I installed Windows and re-raised the programs.
I would not attract virtual here, I would try to get by with real.
1. Create a partition of a suitable size on any of the connected disks with MBR partitioning and make it active (bootable). MBR because this markup is simpler, clearer and more familiar than GPT, it does not require any additional hidden UEFI partitions, which you do not have a backup.
2. Upload the contents of your backup to it.
3. If this was not enough to start the OS, restore the correct bootloader on this partition using the BootICE utility or something similar. There are many different download restorers - it didn’t work with one, we try another. They usually pile up on popular LiveDVD/LiveUSB repair builds.
I use this method to make Win10 work on MBR (regularly, she does not like it and requires GPT).
