shared - then host
your own vps / vds - you can tie your own self-signed one (the browser will swear) or buy the right one and tie it accordingly

1) you need to buy an ssl certificate (it doesn’t matter from whom, everyone has different prices, and there are different certificates)
2) install a certificate for the purchased domain on the server / hosting

An SSL certificate must first be purchased from reliable hosters, because if the site is hacked, the hoster that issued the certificate to you undertakes to pay the insurance amount (the amount of the insurance amount is set by the hoster before drawing up an agreement for registering an ssl certificate)
The certificate is installed on the server or hosting by adding an entry to domain zones!
