How to put path in vps?

To be honest, I annoy myself, but there is one more question, I figured out all the problems step by step, there was only one left: I have an app.js file in the root folder in which the server is turned on, but if I create a folder in the root folder and drop the app file there .js server will turn on but the site will not work, please explain the problem(

It shouldn't, if pm2 or another process manager is looking for it in one place where it was specified during installation as a service, then how should it know that a folder appeared and the file went into it.
