Such a question, I have a poppy, but I want to learn server administration on Linux (beginner), I will watch courses on Stepic.org (not advertising), and so I think I should put linux on the poppy as a third system (Windows is already installed) or you can put it somehow to run from OS X and sit on OS X and Linux in parallel?

You can :)
- Install (and if there is, just run) a virtualization system - they say there is more than one.
- Download linux distribution (anticipating the question - which one, I immediately answer - beginners are recommended bubuntu or mint)
- Create a virtual machine, connect the distribution, install linux
- PROFIT!
