There is a project based on Yii2 Basic. The test project has a web folder , which contains public files and the test domain "looks". to this web folder . And also there is a public hosting (Ru-Center). Ordinary, non-VDS, etc. The docs folder is already predefined on the hosting , into which the domain "looks" ... How to properly upload the project to such a hosting?

In the docs folder you put everything that you have in web . Put everything else next to or above the level, if hosting allows. Edit index.php (paths to configuration files). Use.
You should rather have another question - does this hosting have the necessary PHP modules (mbstring, etc. I don’t remember the full list of the required ones now)?

It is written above correctly, but do not forget to protect all the "offal" with .htaccess so that there is no external access. It’s better to change the root folder (DocumentRoot) of the Apache / nginx server to be web, look in the hosting admin panel, if not, write to the administrators, maybe they will help.
