How to publish a game / application in the Ubuntu Store written in Golang?

There is enough information about how to publish an application in the Play & App Store, but not enough about the Ubuntu Store?

As a free/open source app, you essentially have two options:

• submit it as a .snap package for Ubuntu Core and Ubuntu Desktop
  
• submit it as a .click package for Ubuntu Touch and have it run on phone/tablets for now, Desktops/Laptops a bit later
  
• publish in a PPA
